Faith and World Affairs

An open Bible beside a globe in warm window light.

How should Christians understand and respond to what is happening in the world? Our faith shapes how we recognize truth, evaluate power, care for those who suffer, and respond to injustice. In this section, I bring together biblical reflection, historical research, and lessons from my ministry and others to examine events that affect nations, churches, and people whose lives are often far removed from our own.

My objective is to examine the evidence carefully, consider Biblical truth, distinguish documented facts from interpretation, and consider what faithfulness to Christ requires of us. I invite you to read the sources, review scripture, weigh the arguments, and think through these questions with me. As this collection grows, each series will explore a particular subject, connecting theological truth with the responsibilities and decisions we face in the world.

Faith, Power, and the War in Ukraine

Deception, Apostasy, and the Call for Christian Discernment

This series examines how Vladimir Putin and Patriarch Kirill have brought political ambition and religious authority together, and what that partnership means for Ukraine, the West, and the Church. Drawing on my ministry in Ukraine, historical research, and public statements and documents, I trace the relationship between Russia’s pursuit of power and the religious claims used to justify its actions.

At the heart of this series is a call for Christian discernment. I examine false teaching, the manipulation of Christian convictions, the use of the language of faith to deceive, and the departure from the truth of the gospel by Russian Orthodox Church leaders.

I invite you to examine the sources, weigh my interpretations against the evidence and Scripture, and consider our responsibility to speak truth, care for those who suffer, and remain faithful to Christ.

“Children, it is the last hour, and as you have heard that antichrist is coming, so now many antichrists have come. Therefore we know that it is the last hour.”

1 John 2:18
